The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun shall be folded up, 1 And when the stars fall, dispersing, 2 when the mountains shall be set in motion, 3 when the ten-months pregnant camels shall be abandoned, 4 When the wild beasts are herded together (in the human habitations); 5 and when the seas boil over, 6 When souls are reunited (with the bodies) 7 And when the girl-child who was buried alive is asked. 8 for what crime she had been slain, 9 when the records of men's deeds are laid open, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped, 11 And when hell is further enflamed. 12 And when Paradise shall be brought near, 13 then shall each person know what he has brought along. 14 So I swear by the retreating stars - 15 Moving swiftly and hiding themselves, 16 by the night when it approaches 17 And by the dawn as it brightens; 18 behold, this [divine writ] is indeed the [inspired] word of a noble apostle, 19 having power, with the Lord of the Throne secure, 20 (One) to be obeyed, and trustworthy; 21 Your Companion is not mad, 22 he truly beheld [the angel - beheld] him on the clear horizon; 23 And this Prophet is not miserly upon the hidden. (Allah gave the knowledge of the hidden to the Holy Prophet – peace and blessings be upon him.) 24 nor is it a word of an accursed Satan. 25 Whither then will you go? 26 That is but an advice to the entire creation! 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 And you do not please except that Allah please, the Lord of the worlds. 29
