Again (of old) We bestowed Our favour on Moses and Aaron, 114 and saved them and their people from great distress. 115 And We supported them so it was they who overcame. 116 And We vouchsafed unto the twain a Book luminous. 117 and showed them the Straight Way, 118 And We perpetuated (praise) to them among the later generations. 119 Peace be on Musa and Haroun. 120 Even so We recompense the good-doers; 121 They were among Our believing worshipers. 122 Elias too was one of the Envoys; 123 Behold, he said to his people, "Will ye not fear (Allah)? 124 Will ye cry unto Baal and forsake the Best of creators, 125 Allah is your Lord and the Lord of your fathers, the ancients' 126 But they gave him the lie: and therefore they will most surely be arraigned [on Judgment Day,] 127 except for God's sincere servants; 128 We left him thus to be succeeded by a group [of followers] among the following generations -- 129 "Peace upon Elias." 130 Verily, thus do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers, who perform good deeds totally for Allah's sake only - see V. 2:112). 131 He was among Our believing worshipers. 132 Lot, too, was among the Messengers. 133 We rescued him and his whole family, 134 except an old woman who was among those that stayed behind; 135 and We destroyed the others. 136 You pass by them in the morning 137 Or at night. Then how is it you do not understand? 138
