So We saved the children of Israel from degrading suffering 30 from Pharaoh, who ranked high in sin, 31 And We knowingly chose them, among all others of their time. 32 And We gave them of signs that in which there was a clear trial. 33 Verily these! they say: 34 'There is nothing except the first death, we shall never be revived. 35 “Therefore bring back our forefathers, if you are truthful!” 36 Are they better or the people of Tubba' and those before them? We destroyed them, [for] indeed, they were criminals. 37 And We did not create the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, just for play. 38 We created them in nothing else except the truth. But most do not know. 39 The Day of Decision is the appointed time for all. 40 The day on which, no friends will benefit each other at all, nor will they be helped. (Except those who are pious – see verse 43:67) 41 Except those upon whom Allah has mercy; indeed He only is the Most Honourable, the Most Merciful. 42
