The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the Occurrence occurs, 1 And there can be no denying of its befalling. 2 Degrading (some) and exalting (others); 3 When the earth is violently shaken 4 and the mountains crumbled 5 and will scatter abroad into fine dust. 6 you shall be divided into three parties, 7 Thus, there shall be such as will have attained to what is right: oh, how [happy] will be they who have attained to what is right! 8 And the People on the Left: and how miserable will be the People on the Left! 9 And the foremost in the race, the foremost in the race: 10 These will be those Nearest to Allah: 11 in the Gardens of Delight, 12 Many of them will be from the ancient people 13 and how few of the later folk) 14 On thrones woven [with ornament], 15 Reclining on them, facing each other. 16 Immortal youths will serve them 17 with goblets, and ewers, and cups filled with water from unsullied springs 18 No after-ache will they receive therefrom, nor will they suffer intoxication: 19 And fruit that they prefer 20 And the flesh of fowls, any that they may desire. 21 and there shall be wide-eyed maidens, 22 as the likeness of hidden pearls, 23 a recompense for that they laboured. 24 There they shall hear no idle talk, no cause of sin, 25 except each other's greetings of, "Peace be with you". 26 As for the People on the Right, how fortunate shall be the people on the Right! 27 mid thornless lote-trees 28 Among Talh (banana-trees) with fruits piled one above another, 29 and extended shade, 30 and flowing water 31 and fruit abounding, 32 That will neither finish, nor ever be stopped. 33 And maidens incomparable. 34 Verily, We have created them (maidens) of special creation. 35 having resurrected them as virgins, 36 loving companions, matching in age, 37 For those on the right. 38
