The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ When the heaven is split asunder 1 And hearkens to its Lord and is dutiful, 2 And when the earth shall be stretched forth. 3 And hath cast out all that was in her, and is empty 4 And listens and obeys its Lord, and it must do so; 5 O man, you are striving unto your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 Then he who is given his Record in his right hand, 7 Soon will his account be taken by an easy reckoning, 8 And will return to his people full of joy. 9 But he who is given his Book from behind his back 10 he shall call for destruction 11 and will enter the Blazing Fire. 12 They lived among their people joyfully 13 Indeed, he had thought he would never return [to Allah]. 14 Why not? His Lord was always watching him. 15 So indeed I call to witness the evening twilight, 16 And the night and all it gathers, 17 or by the moon when it is full, 18 [That] you will surely experience state after state. 19 What is the matter with them, that they do not believe 20 And, when the Qur'an is recited unto them, worship not (Allah)? ۩ 21 In fact the disbelievers keep denying. 22 And Allah well knows what they conceal in their hearts. 23 Wherefore announce thou unto them a torment afflictive. 24 unless it be such [of them] as [repent, and] attain to faith, and do good works; for theirs shall be a reward unending! 25
