Said [Moses]: "O my Sustainer! Open up my heart [to Thy light,] 25 and ease my task for me. 26 Remove the defect of my tongue 27 so that they might fully understand my speech, 28 And give to me an aider from my family: 29 Aaron, my brother. 30 Strengthen my back by him, 31 and let him share my task 32 That we may sing Your praises much, 33 "And remember You much, 34 You are surely seeing us' 35 He said: Thou art granted thy request, O Moses. 36 "And indeed We conferred a favour on thee another time (before). 37 Recall, when We indicated to your mother through inspiration: 38 Saying: Put him into a chest, then cast it down into the river, then the river shall throw him on the shore; there shall take him up one who is an enemy to Me and enemy to him, and I cast down upon you love from Me, and that you might be brought up before My eyes; 39 When thy sister went and said: Shall I show you one who will nurse him? and we restored thee to thy mother that her eyes might be refreshed and might not sorrow. And thou didst kill a man and We delivered thee from great distress, and tried thee with a heavy trial. And thou didst tarry years among the folk of Midian. Then camest thou (hither) by (My) providence, O Moses, 40 I chose you for Myself. 41 Go, thou and thy brother, with My tokens, and be not faint in remembrance of Me. 42 Go, both of you, unto Pharaoh. Lo! he hath transgressed (the bounds). 43 And speak to him with gentle speech that perhaps he may be reminded or fear [Allah]." 44 They said: "Our Lord! Verily! We fear lest he should hasten to punish us or lest he should transgress (all bounds against us)." 45 He replied: 'Have no fear I shall be with you, both hearing and seeing. 46 "So go ye both to him, and say, 'Verily we are messengers sent by thy Lord: Send forth, therefore, the Children of Israel with us, and afflict them not: with a Sign, indeed, have we come from thy Lord! and peace to all who follow guidance! 47 Indeed, it has been revealed to us that the punishment will be upon whoever denies and turns away.' " 48 (When this message was delivered), (Pharaoh) said: "Who, then, O Moses, is the Lord of you two?" 49 He said: Our Lord is He Who gave unto everything its nature, then guided it aright. 50 (Pharaoh) said: "What then is the condition of previous generations?" 51 [Moses] answered: "Knowledge thereof rests with my Sustainer [alone, and is laid down] in His decree; my Sustainer does not err, and neither does He forget." 52 It is He who has made for you the earth as a cradle and threaded roads for you and sends down water from the sky with which We bring forth every kind of plant. 53 Eat (for yourselves) and pasture your cattle: verily, in this are Signs for men endued with understanding. 54
