Therefore (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), enlighten, for by the munificence of your Lord, you are neither a soothsayer nor a madman. 29 Or do they say [of you], "A poet for whom we await a misfortune of time?" 30 Say (unto them): Except (your fill)! Lo! I am with you among the expectant. 31 Or, do their intellects order them to do this? Or, are they an insolent people? 32 Or say they: he hath fabricated it: aye they will not believe. 33 Let them then produce a recital like unto it,- If (it be) they speak the truth! 34 Were they created out of nothing, or are they their own creators? 35 Or did they create the heavens and earth? Nay, but they have not sure faith. 36 Or do they have your Lord's treasures in their keeping? Or have absolute authority over them? 37 Or have they a stairway (to heaven), by means of which they listen (to the talks of the angels)? Then let their listener produce some manifest proof. 38 Or, has He daughters, and they sons? 39 Or do you (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) ask any fee from them, so they are burdened with the penalty? 40 Or [do they think] that the hidden reality [of all that exists] is almost within their grasp, so that [in time] they can write it down? 41 Or do they desire a war? But those who disbelieve shall be the vanquished ones in war. 42 Or, do they have a god, other than Allah? Exaltations to Allah above that which they associate! 43 And if they were to see a fragment from the sky falling, they would say, "[It is merely] clouds heaped up." 44 Then let them be (O Muhammad), till they meet their day, in which they will be thunder-stricken, 45 The Day when their plotting will avail them nothing and no help shall be given them. 46 For the harmdoers there is indeed, a punishment before that, but most of them do not know. 47 Be patient, then, (O Prophet), until the judgement of your Lord comes. For surely you are before Our eyes. And celebrate the praise of your Lord when you rise, 48 And in the night time, also glorify His Praises, and at the setting of the stars. 49
