The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the heaven, holding the big stars. 1 By the Promised Day! 2 By one that witnesses, and the subject of the witness;- 3 Perish the fellows of the ditch, 4 with fire abounding in fuel, 5 while they themselves sat around it 6 And were themselves the witnesses of what they did to the believers. 7 They had naught against them save that they believed in Allah, the Mighty, the Owner of Praise, 8 and the One to whom belongs the heavens and the earth. God is the Witness of all things. 9 Those who persecuted the believing men and women and never repented, there is for them the punishment of Gehenna (Hell), and for them the punishment of the burning. 10 Verily, those who believe and do righteous good deeds, for them will be Gardens under which rivers flow (Paradise). That is the great success. 11 The grip of your Lord is indeed severe, 12 He it is Who creates for the first time and He it is Who will create again, 13 And He is the Forgiving, the Affectionate, 14 in sublime almightiness enthroned, 15 The Doer of whatever He wants. 16 Have you not heard about the stories of the armies 17 the armies of Pharaoh and Thamud? 18 But those who disbelieve are engaged in denial. 19 But God surrounds them from all sides. 20 Nay, but this [divine writ which they reject] is a discourse sublime, 21 [Inscribed] in a Preserved Slate. 22
