The Embryo (Al-Alaq)

In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
READ in the name of thy Sustainer, who has created 1 Hath created man from a clot! 2 Recite: And thy Lord is the Most Generous, 3 The One Who taught to write with the pen. 4 taught the human what he did not know. 5 No! [But] indeed, man transgresses 6 for he thinks himself self-sufficient. 7 truly, all will return to your Lord. 8 What is your opinion – regarding him who forbids – 9 a worshipper from praying? 10 Have you seen if he was upon guidance 11 He would enjoin piety, so how good it would be! 12 Hast thou considered whether he may [not] be giving the lie to the truth and turning his back [upon it]? 13 Knoweth he not that Allah doth see? 14 Nay! If he (Abu Jahl) ceases not, We will catch him by the forelock, 15 A lying, sinful forehead. 16 Then let him summon his council, 17 and We too will call the stern and angry keepers of hell. 18 No, indeed; do not obey him! Prostrate and come nearer (to Allah). ۩ 19
