Some of the Pharaoh's nobles considered him to be no more than a skillful magician 109 Who wants to expel you from your land [through magic], so what do you instruct?" 110 They said: "Put him and his brother off (awhile) and send out heralds to the cities 111 Who will bring you every learned magician." 112 The sorcerers came to Pharaoh. They said: 'Shall we be rewarded if we are the winners' 113 He said: Yes, and you shall certainly be of those who are near (to me). 114 They said, "Moses, will you first throw, or shall we?" 115 He said: Throw! And when they threw they cast a spell upon the people's eyes, and overawed them, and produced a mighty spell. 116 And We revealed to Musa, saying: Cast your rod; then lo! it devoured the lies they told. 117 ۞ So the truth was established, and abolished was what they were doing. 118 Thus they were vanquished there, and they went back abased. 119 And the magicians fell down in prostration [to Allah]. 120 They said, 'We believe in the Lord of all Being, 121 the Lord of Moses and Aaron' 122 But Pharaoh said: "You have come to accept belief in Him without my permission! This surely is a plot you have hatched to expel the people from the land. You will soon come to know. 123 "Surely, I will cut off your hands and your feet on opposite sides, then I will crucify you all." 124 They answered: "We have (in any case) to go back to our Lord. 125 You would take revenge on us only because we believed in the signs of our Lord when they came to us. Lord, pour patience upon us and let us die as submitters (Muslims)' 126
