Al-Rahman 3 of 3
BUT FOR THOSE who of their Sustainer's Presence stand in fear, two gardens [of paradise are readied] 46 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?- 47 Full of overhanging branches -- 48 Which of the favours of your Lord will you then deny? -- 49 In them (both) will be two springs flowing (free) 50 Which of your Lord's favours will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 51 In both of them are two pairs of every fruit. 52 Which of the favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? -- 53 [They are] reclining on beds whose linings are of silk brocade, and the fruit of the two gardens is hanging low. 54 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 55 There will be bashful maidens untouched by mankind or jinn before. 56 Which of your Lord's favours will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 57 As though they were rubies and pearls. 58 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 59 Shall the recompense of kindness be aught save kindness? 60 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 61 And besides these two, there are two other Gardens,- 62 Which of the favours of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 63 Dark-green. 64 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 65 In both of them are two springs gushing forth. 66 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 67 In both of them there will be fruit trees and date-palms and pomegranates. 68 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 69 In them are good and beautiful women - 70 jinn and mankind - which of the favors of your Lord would you then deny 71 Pure ones confined to the pavilions. 72 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 73 No man or jinn ever touched them before. 74 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 75 Reclining on green cushions and beautiful decorated carpets. 76 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 77 Blessed be the Name of your Lord, Majestic, Splendid. 78

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
