Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ The sure calamity! 1 What is the Sure Reality? 2 And what will make you know what the Reality is? 3 Thamud and 'Ad people denied the Qari'ah [the striking Hour (of Judgement)]! 4 Now as for the Thamud - they were destroyed by a violent upheaval [of the earth]; 5 and the 'Ad were destroyed by a furious wind 6 Which He sent to assail them for seven nights and eight days running. You should have seen the people prostrate like the decayed trunks of date-palm trees. 7 Do you see any remnants of them? 8 And Firaun, and those before him, and the dwellings that were inverted and thrown, had brought error. 9 When they disobeyed the apostle of their Lord He seized them with an overwhelming punishment. 10 Surely We bore you up in the ship when the water rose high, 11 so that We might make it a reminder for you and so that attentive ears might retain it. 12 So when the Trumpet will be blown, with a sudden single blow. 13 and the earth and the mountains are lifted up and then crushed with a single blow, 14 on that Day shall that indubitable event come to pass; 15 And the heaven will split asunder, for that Day it (the heaven will be frail (weak), and torn up, 16 And the angels are at its edges. And there will bear the Throne of your Lord above them, that Day, eight [of them]. 17 That Day shall ye be brought to Judgment: not an act of yours that ye hide will be hidden. 18 Then he who is given his record in his right hand will exclaim, "Here is my record, read it. 19 Surely I knew that I shall meet my account. 20 Then he shall find himself in a life of bliss; 21 In a lofty Paradise, 22 The fruits in bunches whereof will be low and near at hand. 23 [And all who are thus blest will be told:] "Eat and drink with good cheer in return for all [the good deeds] that you have sent ahead in days gone by!" 24 But, he who is given his book in his left hand will say: 'Woe to me, would that my book had not been given to me! 25 and had not known my account. 26 How I wish my death had ended all. 27 My riches have availed me not; 28 and my authority has been destroyed' 29 (It will be said): "Seize him and fetter him, 30 “Then hurl him into the blazing fire.” 31 then in a chain of seventy cubits' length insert him! 32 He did not believe in God the supreme, 33 “And did not urge to feed the needy.” 34 so today he has no friend here, 35 Nor any food except filth from the washing of wounds, 36 None shall eat it but the sinners. 37
