The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By those who drag forth to destruction, 1 and those that draw out violently, 2 and by [the clouds] that swim serenely and 3 by the angels who hasten along 4 by the managers (angels) affair. 5 On the day when the first trump resoundeth. 6 and will be followed by the second one, 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 Their looks will be downcast. 9 (The disbelievers) say, "Shall we be brought back to life again 10 What, when we are bones old and wasted?' 11 [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" 12 It will only be a single blast, 13 So they will immediately be in an open plain. 14 HAS THE STORY of Moses ever come within thy ken. 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 "Go thou to Pharaoh for he has indeed transgressed all bounds: 17 And say to him: "Would you purify yourself (from the sin of disbelief by becoming a believer)", 18 Then I will guide thee to thy Lord and thou shalt fear (Him). 19 So he showed him the great sign, 20 But [Pharaoh] gave him the lie and rebelliously rejected [all guidance,] 21 Further, he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 Then gathered he and summoned 23 “I am the supreme lord of you all.” 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the hereafter and the former life. 25 Surely there is a great lesson in it for whoever would fear (Allah). 26
