The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers. 1 Those who humbly cry in their prayers. 2 and from idle talk turn away 3 Who strive for betterment; 4 And who guard their private parts, 5 Save in regard to their spouses and those whom their right hands own: so they are not blameworthy 6 Those who seek beyond that are transgressors. 7 And those who are keepers of their trusts and their covenant, 8 And those who are watchful of their acts of prayer. 9 These will be the heirs, 10 Who will inherit al-Firdaus. They will abide therein eternally. 11 NOW, INDEED, We create man out of the essence of clay, 12 then We placed him as a drop of fluid in a safe place, 13 then We made this drop into a clot, then We made the clot into a lump, then We made the lump into bones, then We clothed the bones with flesh, and then We caused it to grow into another creation. Thus Most Blessed is Allah, the Best of all those that create. 14 after this you shall surely die. 15 and then on the Day of Resurrection you shall certainly be raised up. 16 We have indeed fashioned above you seven paths. Never were We unaware of the task of creation. 17 We sent down water from the sky in right measure, and caused it to stay in the earth, and We have the power to cause it to vanish (in the manner We please). 18 Then We brought forth for you therewith gardens of date-palms and grapes, wherein is much fruit for you, and whereof you eat. 19 And a tree that springeth forth from Mount Sinai that groweth oil and relish for the eaters. 20 In the cattle, too, is a lesson for you. We let you drink of that which is in their bellies, and there are many benefits in them for you, and you eat of them, 21 and you ride on them as you do in ships. 22
