The men of the Thicket cried lies to the Envoys 176 When Shu'eyb said unto them: Will ye not ward off (evil)? 177 Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger. 178 I ask of you no wage for this; 179 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage is only with the Lord of the Worlds. 180 ۞ Fill up the measure, and be not cheaters, 181 "And weigh with the true and straight balance. 182 and do not diminish the goods of the people, and do not make mischief in the earth, working corruption. 183 And fear Him who created you and all the earlier people." 184 They said: "Surely you are deluded. 185 You are only a human being like ourselves. Indeed we think you are a liar. 186 "Now cause a piece of the sky to fall on us, if thou art truthful!" 187 He said, "My Lord is most knowing of what you do." 188 But they denied him, so there came on them the retribution of the day of gloom. Lo! it was the retribution of an awful day. 189 Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 190 And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful. 191
