Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ When the sky is split, 1 And when the stars become dispersed, 2 When the seas are poured forth, 3 when the tombs are overthrown, 4 A soul will [then] know what it has put forth and kept back. 5 O MAN! What is it that lures thee away from thy bountiful Sustainer, 6 Who created you, shaped you, and made you well-proportioned, 7 and set you in whatever form He pleased? 8 Nay! But ye do reject Right and Judgment! 9 but you should know that there are angelic guards 10 noble scribes, 11 who know whatever you do. 12 Verily, the Abrar (pious and righteous) will be in delight (Paradise); 13 The wicked certainly in Hell: 14 Roasted they shall be therein on the Day of Requital. 15 And thence they shall not be allowed to be absent. 16 They will never be able to escape from it. Would that you knew what the Day of Judgment is! 17 Again, what do you know – of what sort is the Day of Justice! 18 It is the day when no soul will have power to do the least for a soul, and God's alone will be done. 19
