The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By heaven and the night-star! 1 And what could make thee conceive what it is that comes in the night? 2 (It is) the piercing star. 3 [for] no human being has ever been left unguarded. 4 Let the human reflect of what he is created. 5 Created from a gushing fluid. 6 issuing from between the backbone and the breastbone: 7 Verily He is Able to restore him, 8 On the Day when secrets are disclosed, 9 and he shall have no strength, no helper. 10 By the heaven which returneth, 11 by earth splitting with verdure, 12 Verily, it is a discourse distinguishing. 13 it is not a jest. 14 Behold, they [who refuse to accept it] devise many a false argument [to disprove its truth]; 15 And I (too) am planning a plan. 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal thou gently with them for a while. 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
