The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By oath of the night when it covers 1 and the day as it rises bright! 2 and That which created the male and the female, 3 Verily, [O men,] you aim at most divergent ends! 4 As for him who gives and is godfearing 5 and believes in the finest, 6 We shall facilitate for him the Way to Bliss. 7 But he who does not give and is unconcerned, 8 And rejects the best, 9 We shall surely ease for him the Path of Hardship (the Fire). 10 and their wealth will be of no benefit to them when they face destruction. 11 Surely, in Our hands is guidance, 12 and to Us belong the hereafter and the worldly life. 13 Wherefore I have warned you of Fire flaming, 14 [the fire] which none shall have to endure but that most hapless wretch 15 Who denies and turns away. 16 The pious ones will be safe from this fire 17 Who giveth away his substance that he may be cleansed, 18 And who hath no favour from anyone to recompense. 19 but only out of a longing for the countenance of his Sustainer, the All-Highest: 20 And presently he shall become well pleased. 21
Almighty God's Truth.
