The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
22 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Sun (Al-Shams) before The Fig (Al-Teen)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By oath of the heaven which contains the constellations. 1 And by the Promised Day. 2 And by oath of the day that is a witness and by oath of a day in which the people present themselves. 3 Cursed be the makers of the pit, 4 Fire supplied (abundantly) with fuel: 5 Behold! they sat over against the (fire), 6 And were themselves the witnesses of what they did to the believers. 7 And they ill-treated them for no other reason than that they believed in Allah, Exalted in Power, Worthy of all Praise!- 8 [and] to whom the dominion of the heavens and the earth belongs. But God is witness unto everything! 9 Indeed those who troubled the Muslim men and Muslim women, and then did not repent – for them is the punishment of hell, and for them is the punishment of fire. 10 Surely for those who believe and do the right are gardens with rivers running by. That is the greatest success. 11 The vengeance of God is terribly severe. 12 Lo! He it is Who produceth, then reproduceth, 13 And He only is the Oft Forgiving, the Beloved of His bondmen. 14 The Lord of the Glorious Throne, 15 Effecter of what He intends. 16 Has the story reached you of the hosts, 17 of Pharaoh and of Thamood? 18 Yet the infidels persist in denial. 19 And Allah is after them, has them surrounded. 20 Nay, this is a Glorious Qur'an, 21 On a guarded tablet. 22
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
