Samood gave the lie to the apostles 141 When their brother Salih said to them, "Will you not fear Allah? 142 I am for you a faithful Messenger, 143 So keep your duty to Allah and obey me. 144 For this I ask of you no wage; my wage falls only upon the Lord of the Worlds. 145 Will ye be left secure in that which is here before us, 146 amidst the gardens, springs, 147 farms, and palm-trees in thick groves, 148 "And ye carve houses out of (rocky) mountains with great skill. 149 "But fear Allah and obey me; 150 And obey not the command of the prodigal, 151 who do corruption in the earth, and set not things aright.' 152 They replied: 'Surely, you are one of those bewitched. 153 You are naught but a mortal like ourselves; so bring a sign if you are one of the truthful. 154 He said: yonder is a she-camel; to her a drink, and to you a drink, each on a day known. 155 And touch her not with ill, lest there take hold of you the torment of a Mighty Day. 156 But they killed her, and then they became regretful. 157 for the suffering [predicted by Salih,] befell them [then and there]. In this [story,] behold, there is a message [unto men,] even though most of them will not believe [in it]. 158 And most surely your Lord is the Mighty, the Merciful. 159

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
