Lot's nation, belied their Messengers. 160 When their brother Lot said to them, "Will you not fear God? 161 I am a trustworthy messenger to you: 162 So keep your duty to Allah and obey me. 163 I ask no recompense of you for this. My reward is due from none but the Lord of all the worlds. 164 What! Of all creatures do ye come unto the males, 165 leaving your wives that your Lord created for you? Nay, but you are a people of transgressors. 166 They said: if thou desistest not, O Lut! thou shalt surely be of those driven forth. 167 He said: I am in truth of those who hate your conduct. 168 "O my Lord! deliver me and my family from such things as they do!" 169 So We saved him and his whole family 170 save an old woman among those that tarried; 171 then We destroyed the others. 172 We rained down on them a shower (of brimstone): and evil was the shower on those who were admonished (but heeded not)! 173 Surely there is a Sign in this, but most of them would not believe. 174 And lo! thy Lord, He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful. 175
