۞ And when the son of Mary is cited as an example, behold, thy people turn away from it 57 And they say, “Are our deities better or he?” They did not say this to you except to unjustly argue; in fact they are a quarrelsome people. 58 (Jesus) was only a creature whom We favoured and made an example for the children of Israel. 59 And if We willed, We could have made [instead] of you angels succeeding [one another] on the earth. 60 And most surely it is a knowledge of the hour, therefore have no doubt about it and follow me: this is the right path. 61 Let not Satan misdirect you. He is your open enemy. 62 And when Isa came with clear arguments he said: I have come to you indeed with wisdom, and that I may make clear to you part of what you differ in; so be careful of (your duty to) Allah and obey me: 63 Surely Allah is my Lord and your Lord, therefore serve Him; this is the right path: 64 But sects from among themselves fell into disagreement: then woe to the wrong-doers, from the Penalty of a Grievous Day! 65 Await they aught save the Hour, that it shall come upon them suddenly, when they know not? 66 On that Day even bosom friends shall become enemies to one another, all except the God-fearing. 67
