The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
CONSIDER those [stars] that rise only to set, 1 and those that draw out violently, 2 And by those who float in space, 3 by those that outstrip them suddenly, 4 and by those who regulate events. 5 On the day when the trembling one will tremble. (The disbelievers will certainly taste the punishment.) 6 And there will follow it the next blast. 7 (Some) hearts that Day will shake with fear and anxiety. 8 and their eyes shall be downcast with dread. 9 They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, 10 Even if we should be decayed bones? 11 They say: "Then this returning will be a dead loss." 12 So that is not but a single shout. 13 And lo! they all shall appear on the surface. 14 Have you heard the story of Moses? 15 How his Lord called him in the holy vale of Tuwa, 16 "Go to the Pharaoh who has become refractory, 17 and say to him: 'Are you willing to be purified, 18 "'And that I guide thee to thy Lord, so thou shouldst fear Him?'" 19 Then did (Moses) show him the Great Sign. 20 In response, he denied and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned his back, striving. 22 Then he collected (his men) and made a proclamation, 23 Saying: "I am your lord, most high", 24 you pay attention 25 Indeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [Allah]. 26
