The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Woe unto the defrauders: 1 Who, when they take the measure (of their dues) from men take it fully, 2 And who, when they measure unto them or weigh for them, diminish. 3 What! Do they not expect that they will be raised? 4 for a great Day, 5 A Day whereon mankind shall stand before the Lord of the worlds? 6 Indeed! The record of the wicked is in the Sijjin -- 7 Ah! what will convey unto thee what Sijjin is! - 8 It is a (repository of) distinctly written record. 9 Woe on that day to the rejecters, 10 Those who belie the Day of Requital. 11 And none will deny it, except every transgressor, rebel. 12 When Our communications are recited to him, he says: Stories of those of yore. 13 No indeed! Their own deeds have cast a veil over their hearts. 14 Yes indeed – they will be deprived of seeing their Lord on that day. 15 Then indeed they have to enter hell. 16 and it will be said to them: 'This is that which you belied' 17 By no means! Verily the record of the virtuous shall be in 'Illiyun. 18 And what will make you know what the highest Iliyin is? 19 The record is a sealed text. 20 To which bear witness those brought nigh. 21 The righteous shall indeed be blissful, 22 On thrones, watching. 23 You shall see upon their faces the glow of bliss. 24 They shall be given to drink of a wine that is sealed, 25 Whose seal is musk - for this let (all) those strive who strive for bliss - 26 for it is composed of all that is most exalting 27 A fountain from which drink they who are drawn near (to Allah). 28 Behold, the sinners were laughing at the believers, 29 And wink one to another when they passed them; 30 And when they returned to their own folk, they returned jesting; 31 And whenever they saw them, they would say, "Behold! These are the people truly astray!" 32 And they were not sent to be keepers over them. 33 so today those who believe shall [be able to] laugh at those who denied the truth 34 On (high) thrones, looking (at all things). 35 Have those who deny the truth [not] been paid back for their deeds? 36
