The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder 1 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] 2 when the earth is stretched out 3 and casts out all that is within it and becomes empty; 4 And hearkens to its Lord and is dutiful, 5 O human, you are working hard towards your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 And he who is given his ledger in his right hand 7 he shall surely receive an easy reckoning 8 And he shall go back to his people joyful. 9 But as for him whose record shall be given to him behind his back; 10 Will pray for death, 11 And he shall roast into a Blaze. 12 Verily he was among his people joyous. 13 Verily, he thought that he would never come back (to Us)! 14 This is a fact. Their Lord is Well-Aware of (all that they do). 15 So I swear by the afterglow of sunset; 16 And by the night and that which it driveth together, 17 And the Moon in her fullness: 18 That ye shall journey on from plane to plane. 19 What is the matter with them? Why do they not believe? 20 and when the Koran is recited to them that they do not prostrate! ۩ 21 In fact the disbelievers keep denying. 22 but God knows best whatever they accumulate in their hearts. 23 So give them news of painful punishment, 24 But those who believe and work righteous works, theirs shall be a hire unending. 25
