And they ask you about the soul. Say: The soul is one of the commands of my Lord, and you are not given aught of knowledge but a little. 85 And if We willed, We could surely do away with that which We revealed to you. Then you would not find for yourself concerning it an advocate against Us. 86 excepting by some mercy of thy Lord; surly His favour to thee is great. 87 Say: "If the mankind and the jinns were together to produce the like of this Quran, they could not produce the like thereof, even if they helped one another." 88 For, indeed, many facets have We given in this Qur'an to every kind of lesson [designed] for [the benefit of] mankind! However, most men are unwilling to accept anything but blasphemy 89 And they say: We will not put faith in thee till thou cause a spring to gush forth from the earth for us; 90 Or you should have a garden of palms and grapes in the midst of which you should cause rivers to flow forth, gushing out. 91 Or thou cause the heaven to fall upon us piecemeal, as thou hast pretended, or bring Allah and the angels as a warrant; 92 or till thou possessest a house of gold ornament, or till thou goest up into heaven; and we will not believe thy going up till thou bringest down on us a book that we may read. Say: 'Glory be to my Lord. Am I aught but a mortal, a Messenger?' 93
