In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Kaf Ha Ya Ain Sad 1 Commemorate the beneficence of your Lord on Zachariah, His devotee, 2 when he called upon his Lord secretly 3 saying: 'O my Lord, my bones are enfeebled, and my head glows silver with age. Yet, never Lord, have I been unblessed in prayer to You. 4 "Now I fear (what) my relatives (and colleagues) (will do) after me: but my wife is barren: so give me an heir as from Thyself,- 5 Inheriting me and inheriting the Children of Ya'qub; and make him, my Lord, acceptable! 6 O Zakariya! surely We give you good news of a boy whose name shall be Yahya: We have not made before anyone his equal. 7 He said, "My Lord, how will I have a boy when my wife has been barren and I have reached extreme old age?" 8 He answered: "So shall it be." Your Lord says: "It is easy for Me," and then added: "For beyond doubt, I created you earlier when you were nothing." 9 He said: My Lord! give me a sign. He said: Your sign is that you will not be able to speak to the people three nights while in sound health. 10 So Zakariya came out to his people from him chamber: He told them by signs to celebrate Allah's praises in the morning and in the evening. 11 [Allah] said, "O John, take the Scripture with determination." And We gave him judgement [while yet] a boy 12 And piety (for all creatures) as from Us, and purity: He was devout, 13 And dutiful toward his parents. And he was not arrogant, rebellious. 14 He was born and died in peace and will be brought back to life again in peace. 15
