The chiefs of the people who did not believe and denied the life to come, though We had given them good things of this life to enjoy, (said): "He is only a mortal like you. He eats as you do, and drinks as you drink. 33 “If you were to obey a human like yourselves, then surely you are losers!” 34 Does he promise you that after you die and become dust and bones you will be brought back to life again? 35 ۞ After, after with that which you are promised! 36 There is nothing but our present life; we die, and we live, and we shall not be raised up. 37 He is nothing but a man who has forged against Allah a lie, we will never believe him' 38 The Messenger said: "My Lord! Come to my help at their accusing me of lying." 39 He said: In a little while they will most certainly be repenting. 40 Then a mighty blast quite justly overtook them, and We reduced them to a rubble. So away with the wrong-doing folk! 41 Then We raised after them other generations. 42 No community can anticipate their term, nor can they lay behind. 43 Then sent We our messengers in succession: every time there came to a people their messenger, they accused him of falsehood: so We made them follow each other (in punishment): We made them as a tale (that is told): So away with a people that will not believe! 44 AND THEN We sent forth Moses and his brother Aaron with Our messages and a manifest authority [from Us] 45 Unto Pharaoh and his chiefs, but they scorned (them) and they were despotic folk. 46 And they said: What! shall we believe in two mortals like ourselves while their people serve us? 47 They called them liars and consequently were destroyed. 48 And We gave Moses the Book, in order that they might be guided. 49 And We made the son of Mary and his mother as a Sign: We gave them both shelter on high ground, affording rest and security and furnished with springs. 50
