The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
I swear by (the angels) who stand in ranks, 1 and those who drive away [the wicked] with reproof 2 and those who recite the Exhortation; 3 Indeed, your God is One, 4 He is the Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, the Lord of the Eastern regions. 5 We have indeed adorned the lowest heaven with stars as ornaments. 6 With security from every froward devil. 7 They cannot listen to the Highest Chiefs for they are pelted from every side, 8 Being driven off, and for them is a perpetual chastisement, 9 Some of them who stealthily steal words from the heavens are pursued by a glistening flame. 10 So ask them for a pronouncement -- Are they stronger in constitution, or those We created? We created them of clinging clay. 11 Rather you are surprised, whereas they keep mocking. 12 They pay no attention when they are reminded 13 and when they become aware of a [divine] message, they turn it to ridicule 14 And say, "This is nothing but evident sorcery! 15 “When we are dead and have turned into dust and bones, will we certainly be raised again?” 16 “And also our forefathers?” 17 Proclaim, “Yes, and with disgrace.” 18 It will be only one shout, and at once they will be observing. 19 And say: Ah, woe for us! This is the Day of Judgment. 20 This is the Day of Decision which you belied. 21
