Hizb 46
< random >
And lo! Jonah verily was of those sent (to warn) 139 He ran away to the laden ship, 140 and sailed away in a laden ship, wherein people cast lots. Because he lost, he was thrown into the water. 141 The fish then swallowed him and he blamed himself. (For not waiting for Allah’s command.) 142 And were he not one of those who praise. 143 He would have remained inside its belly until the Day they are resurrected. 144 ۞ We then put him ashore on a plain, and he was sick. 145 And We made a gourd tree grow over him. 146 Then We sent him unto a hundred thousand, or more, 147 And they believed; so We permitted them to enjoy (their life) for a while. 148 Now ask thou them: are there for thy Lord daughters and for them sons? 149 Or that have We created the angels as females, while they were present? 150 Pay heed! It is their slander that they say. 151 'God has begotten a son.' They are certainly liars. 152 “Has he chosen daughters instead of sons?” 153 What ails you then, how you judge? 154 Will ye not then reflect? 155 Or do you have a clear authority? 156 Then produce your scriptures, if you are telling the truth. 157 And they assert a relationship between Him and the jinn; and certainly the jinn do know that they shall surely be brought up; 158 Glory be to God above that they describe, 159 except for God's sincere servants. 160 But as for you, and that you serve, 161 Ye cannot excite (anyone) against Him. 162 except those who are doomed to enter hell. 163 There is not one of us (angels) but has his known place (or position); 164 And verily we! we are ranged in ranks. 165 And we are those who sing hallelujas to Him." 166 They used to say before: 167 "Had we received guidance from the people living before us, 168 We would be single-minded slaves of Allah. 169 But (now) they disbelieve in it, so they will come to know. 170 We have already given Our promise to Our Messengers 171 [That] indeed, they would be those given victory 172 And that Our host, they verily would be the victors. 173 So you ignore them for a time 174 And see [what will befall] them, for they are going to see. 175 Would they hasten on Our doom? 176 But when it shall descend in their court, evil shall then be the morning of the warned ones. 177 Hence, turn thou aside for a while from them, 178 And watch (how they fare) and they soon shall see (how thou farest)! 179 Too glorious is your Lord, the Lord of power, for what they ascribe to Him. 180 And Peace on the messengers! 181 and all praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Universe. 182
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
