And remember Our servant Ayyub, when he called upon his Lord: The Shaitan has afflicted me with toil and torment. 41 We said to him, “Strike the earth with your foot; this cool spring is for bathing and drinking.” (A spring gushed forth when he struck the earth – this was a miracle.) 42 And We bestowed on him (again) his household and therewith the like thereof, a mercy from Us, and a memorial for men of understanding. 43 And (it was said unto him): Take in thine hand a branch and smite therewith, and break not thine oath. Lo! We found him steadfast, how excellent a slave! Lo! he was ever turning in repentance (to his Lord). 44 (Muhammad), recall Our servants Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, all of whom possessed virtuous hands and clear visions. 45 Verily, We did choose them by granting them (a good thing, i.e.) the remembrance of the home [in the Hereafter and they used to make the people remember it, and also they used to invite the people to obey Allah and to do good deeds for the Hereafter]. 46 And indeed they are, to Us, among the chosen and outstanding. 47 And remember Ismail and Al-Yasha and Zulkifl; and they were all of the best. 48 This was a remembrance. An excellent retreat awaits the God-fearing 49 Everlasting Gardens – all its gates are open for them. 50 in which they will recline, and call for abundant fruit and drink therein. 51 ۞ And with them will be virgins of refraining looks and of equal age. 52 This is what they had been promised for the Day of Judgment. 53 Our provision (for you) will never be exhausted. 54 All of this; but, for the proud there is an ill return. 55 Hell, wherein they roast: a wretched couch. 56 There will be boiling water for them and cold, clammy, fetid drink to taste, 57 And other (torment) of the kind in pairs (the two extremes)! 58 Here is a multitude rushing headlong with you. There is no welcome for them. They will roast in the fire. 59 (The followers of the misleaders will say): "Nay, you (too)! No welcome for you! It is you (misleaders) who brought this upon us (because you misled us in the world), so evil is this place to stay in!" 60 They say: Our Lord! Whoever did prepare this for us, oh, give him double portion of the Fire! 61 And they shall say: What is the matter with us that we do not see men whom we used to count among the vicious? 62 Is it that we mistakenly made fun of them; or have they disappeared from our sight?” 63 Such disputes will certainly take place among the dwellers of hell fire. 64
