Hath the story of Abraham's honoured guests reached thee (O Muhammad)? 24 Behold, they entered his presence, and said: "Peace!" He said, "Peace!" (and thought, "These seem) unusual people." 25 Then he turned aside to his family secretly and brought a fat (roasted) calf, 26 He then presented it before them and said, “Do you not eat?” 27 Then he conceived a fear about them, and they said: 'Have no fear', and gave him the glad tidings that he was to have a knowledgeable son. 28 His wife came forward, crying and beating her face, saying, "I am an old barren woman!" 29 They said, "Even so has thy Lord spoken: and He is full of Wisdom and Knowledge." 30 ۞ Abraham asked, "What is your errand, O messengers?" 31 They replied, "We have been sent to a sinful people, 32 To send down upon them stones of baked clay. 33 Marked by thy Lord for (the destruction of) the wanton. 34 Then We evacuated those of the Believers who were there, 35 But We found not there any just (Muslim) persons except in one house: 36 And We left therein a sign for those who fear the painful punishment. 37 And in Moses (too, there is a portent) when We sent him unto Pharaoh with clear warrant, 38 But he turned to his counsellors, and said: "He is a magician or lunatic." 39 So We took him and his hosts, and dumped them into the sea, while he was to be blamed. 40 And in Ad: When We sent upon them the destructive wind. 41 which spared nothing of what it came upon, but caused [all of] it to become like bones dead and decayed. 42 And in Samood: When it was said to them: Enjoy yourselves for a while. 43 But they insolently defied the Command of their Lord, so the Sa'iqah overtook them while they were looking. 44 So they were not able to stand, nor could they help themselves. 45 And [We destroyed] the people of Noah before; indeed, they were a people defiantly disobedient. 46
