Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I swear by the emissary winds, sent one after another (for men's benefit), 1 storming tempestuously 2 And by the winds that scatter clouds and rain; 3 separating one from another, 4 and those (angels) dropping, reminding 5 excusing or warning, 6 that whatever with which you have been warned will inevitably come to pass. 7 So when the stars are made to lose their light, 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are blown away 10 And when the messengers are brought unto their time appointed - 11 For what day is the time appointed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 How will you comprehend what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 15 Destroyed We not the former folk, 16 and let the latter follow them? 17 In this wise We do with the culprits. 18 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 19 Did We not create you from a liquid disdained? 20 and place it in a secure place 21 For a known extent. 22 We then calculated; so how excellently do We control! 23 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 24 Have We not caused the earth to hold within itself 25 the living and the dead? 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and filled you with sweet water? 27 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 28 Depart to that you cried was lies! 29 Depart unto the shadow three branched: 30 that will offer no [cooling] shade and will be of no avail against the flame 31 that shoots sparks like dry faggots, 32 as black camels. 33 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 34 This is the day on which they shall not speak, 35 And they will not be permitted to put forth any excuse. 36 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 37 That will be a Day of Decision! We have brought you and the men of old together! 38 If you have any plans, use them. 39 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 40
