The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the heaven, and the night-visitor, 1 How will you comprehend what the night star is? 2 (It is) the piercing star. 3 Over every soul there is a watcher. 4 LET MAN, then, observe out of what he has been created: 5 He is created from a water gushing forth. 6 issuing from between the backbone and the breastbone: 7 Surely (Allah) is able to bring him back (to life)! 8 On the Day when man's deepest secrets shall be put to the test 9 He will have no strength or helper. 10 By the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 And by the Earth which opens out (for the gushing of springs or the sprouting of vegetation),- 12 BEHOLD, this [divine writ] is indeed a word that distinguishes between truth and falsehood, 13 it is not a jest. 14 Indeed, they are planning a plan, 15 And I am planning a scheme. 16 so bear with those who deny the truth, and let them be for a little while. 17
Almighty God's Truth.
