Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the winds which scatter dust, 1 and the burden-bearers 2 And the ships that glide with ease. 3 And those who distribute (blessings) by command, 4 Verily that wherewith ye are threatened is surely true. 5 and surely the Doom is about to fall! 6 And by oath of the decorated heaven. 7 Truly ye are in a doctrine discordant, 8 From which only he turns who is turned away. 9 Woe to the liars 10 who are dazed in perplexity 11 They ask; "When will be the Day of Recompense?" 12 It will be the Day whereon in the Fire they will be burned 13 [and will be told:] "Taste this your trial! It is this that you were so hastily asking for!" 14 Surely the God-fearing will find themselves in the midst of gardens and springs. 15 receiving what their Lord will give them because before this they were gooddoers. 16 They used to sleep only a little during the night. 17 and at dawn would ask forgiveness, 18 And in their substance was the right of the beggar and non-beggar. 19 And in the earth there are signs for those who are sure, 20 just as [there are signs thereof] within your own selves: can you not, then, see? 21 And in heaven is [the source of] your sustenance [on earth] and [of] all that you are promised [for your life after death]: 22 And by the Lord of the heavens and the earth! it is most surely the truth, just as you do speak. 23
