The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
25 verses, revealed in Mecca after Shattering (Al-Infitaar) before The Romans (Al-Room)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven breaks apart. 1 and hearkens to the command of its Lord, doing what it should; 2 And when the earth is stretched, 3 And throws out whatever it contains and is empty, 4 in obedience to the commands of its Lord which are incumbent on it, (the human being will receive due recompense for his deeds). 5 O human, you are working hard towards your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 Then whoso is given his account in his right hand 7 Soon an easy account will be taken from him. 8 and will return rejoicing to his family. 9 But as for him whose record shall be given to him behind his back; 10 he will in time pray for utter destruction: 11 But will be roasted in the fire. 12 He used to be happy with his own people; 13 Surely he thought that he would never return. 14 Nay, but lo! his Lord is ever looking on him! 15 No! I swear by the twilight 16 And the night and that which it drives on, 17 or by the moon when it is full, 18 Surely ye shall ride layer upon layer. 19 Then what ails them, that they believe not, 20 Why, when the Quran is recited to them, do they not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 Nay, but they who are bent on denying the truth give the lie [to this divine writ]! 22 And Allah knows best what they gather (of good and bad deeds), 23 So give them tidings of a painful doom, 24 except the righteously striving believers, who will receive a never-ending reward. 25
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
