The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
ALIF LAM MIM. 1 This is the exalted Book (the Qur’an), in which there is no place for doubt; a guidance for the pious. 2 Who believe in the Unseen, are steadfast in prayer, and spend out of what We have provided for them; 3 those who believe in the revelation sent down to you and in what was sent before you, and firmly believe in the life to come -- 4 These are guided by their Lord; these surely are the prosperous. 5 As for those whose fate is disbelief, whether you warn them or do not warn them – it is all one for them; they will not believe. (Because their hearts are sealed – see next verse). 6 God has sealed their hearts and hearing and their vision is veiled; a great punishment awaits them. 7
