'Ad (people) belied the Messengers. 123 When their fellowman Hud said to them, “Do you not fear?” 124 "I am to you a messenger worthy of all trust: 125 “Therefore fear Allah and obey me.” 126 I seek of you no reward for this; my reward is with none but the Lord of the Universe. 127 Build ye on every eminence a landmark in vanity? 128 "And do you get for yourselves palaces (fine buildings) as if you will live therein for ever. 129 and when you strike you strike like tyrants? 130 “Therefore fear Allah, and obey me.” 131 "Yea, fear Him Who has bestowed on you freely all that ye know. 132 amply provided you with flocks, and children, 133 gardens, and springs. 134 I fear for you the chastisement of an Awesome Day." 135 They said, “It is the same for us, whether you advise us or not be of the preachers.” 136 This is just a habit of antiquated people. 137 and we shall not be chastised.' 138 So they rejected him; and We destroyed them. There is certainly a sign in that; but most of them would not believe. 139 But, verily, thy Sustainer - He alone - is almighty, a dispenser of grace! 140
