The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Successful indeed are the believers 1 who in their prayers are humble 2 who turn away from idle talk; 3 And who are givers of poor-rate, 4 and guard their private parts 5 Save in regard to their spouses and those whom their right hands own: so they are not blameworthy 6 But those whose desires exceed those limits are transgressors;- 7 And those who of their trusts and covenant are keepers. 8 And who (strictly) guard their prayers;- 9 Those are the inheritors 10 who will inherit Paradise; they shall live there for ever. 11 Verily We created man from a product of wet earth; 12 Then We made him a small seed in a firm resting-place, 13 then We developed that drop into a clinging form, and We developed that form into a lump of flesh, and We developed that lump into bones, and clothed the bones with flesh. Then We brought him into being as a new creation, glory be to God, the best of creators, 14 after this you shall surely die. 15 Again, on the Day of Judgment, will ye be raised up. 16 We made several highways one over the other above you. We are not neglectful of creation. 17 And we send down from the sky water in measure, and We give it lodging in the earth, and lo! We are Able to withdraw it. 18 We grow orchards of dates and grapes from it for you, Which yield fruits in abundance that you eat. 19 Also, a tree which grows on the Tor of Sinai and gives oil and relish for its eaters. 20 And lo! in the cattle there is verily a lesson for you. We give you to drink of that which is in their bellies, and many uses have ye in them, and of them do ye eat; 21 and upon them, and on the ships, you are borne. 22
