Alshu'araa' 10 of 11
The People of the Woods denied the Noble Messengers. 176 Behold, Shu'aib said to them: "Will ye not fear (Allah)? 177 "I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 178 “Therefore fear Allah and obey me.” 179 I ask of you no recompense for this; my reward is only with the Lord of the Universe. 180 ۞ Fill up the measure and do not diminish the goods of people, 181 “And weigh with a proper balance.” 182 And do not withhold from people what belongs to them, and do not corrupt the land; 183 "And fear Him Who created you and (who created) the generations before (you)" 184 Said they: "Thou art but one of the bewitched, 185 and a mere mortal like us. We think you are a liar. 186 Let a part of the sky fall on us if what you say is true". 187 He said: My Lord knows best what you do. 188 In response they denied him – therefore the punishment of the day of the tent* seized them; that was indeed a punishment of a Great Day. (The clouds formed a tent and rained fire upon them). 189 Verily herein is a sign; but most of them are not believers. 190 And verily! Your Lord, He is indeed the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. 191
