Al-Waaqe'ah 3 of 3
۞ I swear by the setting of the stars 75 and, behold, this is indeed a most solemn affirmation, if you but knew it! 76 Indeed, it is a noble Qur'an 77 [conveyed unto man] in a well-guarded divine writ 78 Only they can reach it who are clean (of mind). 79 A Revelation (this Quran) from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 80 Is it such a talk (this Quran) that you (disbelievers) deny? 81 And instead (of thanking Allah) for the provision He gives you, on the contrary, you deny Him (by disbelief)! 82 Why is it not then that when it (soul) comes up to the throat, 83 right before your very eyes? 84 – at that moment when We are closer to him than you, although you do not see (Us) 85 Why then, if ye are not in bondage (unto Us), 86 why can you not bring it (the soul) back (to life)? 87 Then, if he (the dying person) be of the Muqarrabun (those brought near to Allah), 88 there shall be repose and ease, and a Garden of Delight; 89 And if he is of those on the right hand, 90 (he will be greeted with): 'Peace be upon you, Companion of the Right' 91 And if he is from the deniers, the astray, – 92 Then an entertainment of boiling water. 93 and will be scorched by the Fire. 94 Verily, this! This is an absolute Truth with certainty. 95 Then magnify the Name of thy Lord, the All-mighty. 96

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
