The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ EXTOL the limitless glory of thy Sustainer's name: [the glory of] the Al-Highest, 1 Who created all things and fashioned them in good proportion; 2 And the One Who kept proper measure and then guided. 3 And Who bringeth forth the pasturage, 4 And then makes it dark stubble. 5 [O Prophet!] We shall make you recite the Quran so that you will not forget any of it -- 6 Save that which Allah may will. Verily He knoweth the public and that which is hidden. 7 And We shall make easy for you (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) the easy way (i.e. the doing of righteous deeds). 8 Therefore advise, if advising is beneficial. 9 in mind will keep it he who stands in awe [of God,] 10 And the wretched shunneth it. 11 He who shall roast into the Great Fire, 12 Then he will neither die in it, nor live. 13 He who purifies himself, 14 And glorify the name of their Guardian-Lord, and (lift their hearts) in prayer. 15 But you prefer the worldly life, 16 But the Hereafter is better and more enduring. 17 This is what is written in the ancient heavenly Books, 18 the scriptures of Abraham and Moses. 19
