[Allah said], "O messengers, eat from the good foods and work righteousness. Indeed, I, of what you do, am Knowing. 51 And lo! this your religion is one religion and I am your Lord, so keep your duty unto Me. 52 The people divided themselves into many sects, each with their own book and each happy with whatever they had. 53 So leave them to their ignorance for a time. 54 Do they think that We are helping them by giving them children and property? 55 We [but want to] make them vie with one another in doing [what they consider] good works? Nay, but they do not perceive [their error]! 56 Verily, [only] they who stand in reverent awe of their Sustainer, 57 Those who believe in the Signs of their Lord; 58 And those who with their Lord associate not anyone. 59 And those who give that which they give with hearts afraid because they are about to return unto their Lord, 60 It is those who hasten to good deeds, and they outstrip [others] therein. 61 And We do not burden any soul beyond its capacity, and with Us is a Book* that speaks the truth, and they will not be wronged. (* The preserved tablet or the record of one’s deeds.) 62 But their hearts are heedless of this. Moreover, there are other deeds besides this which they do. 63 To the extent that when We seized the wealthy among them with punishment, they immediately began imploring. 64 (We shall say): 'Do not groan today, surely you shall receive no help from Us' 65 "My Signs used to be rehearsed to you, but ye used to turn back on your heels- 66 and arrogantly mocked and reviled them. 67 Have they not pondered over the Word (of Allah, i.e. what is sent down to the Prophet SAW), or has there come to them what had not come to their fathers of old? 68 Or is it that they did not recognise their Noble Messenger, therefore they consider him alien? 69 Or do they say: "There is madness in him"? Nay, he has brought them the truth - and the truth do most of them detest! 70 Had the truth followed their fancies, the heavens, the earth, and all who live in them would have surely been corrupted. No, We brought them their Remembrance; but from their Remembrance they turn away. 71 Or is it that you (O Muhammad SAW) ask them for some wages? But the recompense of your Lord is better, and He is the Best of those who give sustenance. 72 You are calling them to a Straight Way, 73 And verily, those who believe not in the Hereafter are indeed deviating far astray from the Path (true religion Islamic Monotheism). 74 ۞ And even were We to show them mercy and remove whatever distress might befall them [in this life,] they would still persist in their overweening arrogance, blindly stumbling to and fro. 75 And assuredly We took hold of them with the torment, yet they humbled not themselves to their Lord, nor did they entreat. 76 Until when We shall open upon them a portal of severe torment, and lo! thereat they are desparing. 77
