▼ 56 The Inevitable
Al-Waaqe'ah 3 of 3
۞ NAY, I call to witness the coming-down in parts [of this Qur'an] 75 (and that is indeed a mighty oath, did you but know it) 76 it is surely a noble Koran 77 in a well-guarded preserved Book, 78 which none shall touch except the purified; 79 It has been revealed by the Lord of all the worlds. 80 Is it this discourse that ye hold lightly? 81 Do you make its denial your means of livelihood? 82 Then why do you not (intervene) when (the soul of a dying person) reaches the throat? 83 the while you are helplessly watching that he is on the verge of death, 84 And We are nearer to it than you, but you do not see-- 85 Then why is it not-- if you are not held under authority-- 86 Bring it back, if you should be truthful? 87 Then, if he (the dying person) be of the Muqarrabun (those brought near to Allah), 88 Then breath of life, and plenty, and a Garden of delight. 89 And if he is one of those on the right hand, 90 'Peace be upon thee, Companion of the Right!' 91 But if he is of the rejecters, the erring, 92 a welcome of burning despair [awaits him in the life to come,] 93 and the roasting in Hell. 94 Indeed, this is the true certainty, 95 Extol, then, the limitless glory of thy Sustainer's mighty name! 96
