The people of Lut denied the Noble Messengers. 160 Their brother Lot asked them, "Why do you not have fear of God? 161 I am for you a faithful Messenger, 162 "So fear Allah and obey me. 163 And I ask of you no hire therefor; my hire is but with the Lord of the worlds. 164 What, of all creation will you go to (fornicate with) the males, 165 leaving your wives that your Lord created for you? Nay, but you are a people of transgressors. 166 They said: "If thou desist not, O Lut! thou wilt assuredly be cast out!" 167 He said, 'Truly I am a detester of what you do. 168 My Lord! deliver me and my household from that which they work. 169 So We saved him and his family, all, 170 except an old woman who stayed behind, 171 Then afterward We destroyed the others. 172 and We rained on them a rain; and evil is the rain of them that are warned. 173 In this [story,] behold, there is a message [unto men,] even though most of them will not believe [in it]. 174 And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might Most Merciful. 175
