Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Ha, Meem. 1 This is the revelations from the Beneficent, Merciful God. 2 a divine writ, the messages whereof have been clearly spelled out as a discourse in the Arabic tongue for people of [innate] knowledge, 3 good tidings to bear, and warning, but most of them have turned away, and do not give ear. 4 And they say, “Our hearts are covered against the affair you call us to, and there is deafness in our ears, and there is a barrier between us and you – therefore mind your own business, we are minding ours.” 5 Say, O [Muhammad], "I am only a man like you to whom it has been revealed that your god is but one God; so take a straight course to Him and seek His forgiveness." And woe to those who associate others with Allah - 6 Those who give not the Zakat and they are disbelievers in the Hereafter. 7 Indeed, those who believe and do righteous deeds - for them is a reward uninterrupted. 8
