Observedest thou him who turned away? 33 And gave a little and [then] refrained? 34 Does he have any knowledge of the world beyond the ken of sense-perception, and therefore, clearly sees (the Truth)? 35 Or hath he not had news of what is in the books of Moses 36 And of Ibrahim (Abraham) who fulfilled (or conveyed) all that (what Allah ordered him to do or convey), 37 that no bearer of burdens shall be made to bear another's burden; 38 And that man can have nothing but what he does (good or bad). 39 And that his deeds will be seen, 40 whereupon he shall be requited for it with the fullest requital; 41 And that unto thy Lord is the goal. 42 That it is He Who granteth Laughter and Tears; 43 and that it is He who causes to die, and causes to live 44 And that He createth the pair, the male and the female. 45 From Nutfah (drops of semen male and female discharges) when it is emitted; 46 And that on Him is the bringing forth a second time; 47 It is He who grants people temporary and durable wealth. 48 That He is the Lord of Sirius (the Mighty Star); 49 and that He destroyed Ad, the ancient, 50 and Thamud, leaving no trace [of them,] 51 as well as the people of Noah before them - [since,] verily, they all had been most willful in their evildoing and most overweening 52 and the Subverted City He also overthrew, 53 so that there covered it that which covered. 54 Which of your Lord's benefits will you then dispute about? 55 This is a warner, of the warners of old. 56 The approaching event has come near. 57 apart from God none can disclose it. 58 Are you astonished at this news, 59 and do you laugh, and do you not weep, 60 Wasting your (precious) lifetime in pastime and amusements (singing, etc.). 61 So make obeisance to Allah and serve (Him). ۩ 62
