The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
When the sun is overthrown, 1 When the stars fall, losing their lustre; 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 When the she-camels, ten months with young, are left untended; 4 when the savage beasts shall be mustered, 5 when the seas are set boiling, 6 And when souls are reunited, 7 And when the girl buried alive shall be asked: 8 For what sin she was slain. 9 And when the books are spread, 10 And when the sky is torn away, 11 When the Blazing Fire is kindled to fierce heat; 12 and when paradise is brought into view: 13 then every soul will discover the consequence of its deeds. 14 So by oath of those that revolve. (The planets.) 15 Those that run [their courses] and disappear - 16 And by the night as it closes in 17 And by oath of the morning when it takes birth. 18 [That] indeed, the Qur'an is a word [conveyed by] a noble messenger 19 The processor of strength, having an honorable place with the Lord of the Dominion, 20 obeyed, moreover trusty. 21 And your companion is not gone mad. 22 in truth he saw him (Gabriel) on the clear horizon, 23 And he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) withholds not a knowledge of the unseen. 24 This is not the utterance of an accursed devil. 25 So where are you going? 26 It is naught but a reminder for the nations, 27 for whosoever of you who would go straight; 28 Though you cannot desire except as God will, the Lord of all the worlds. 29
