The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the Sky and the Night-Visitant (therein);- 1 And what shall make thee know that which the night-comer is? 2 It is the star that shines with a piercing brightness -- 3 There is no soul but that it has over it a protector. 4 So let man see from what he is created! 5 He has been created from an ejected drop of fluid 6 Coming from between the back and the ribs. 7 God has all power to resurrect him. 8 The Day when secrets will be put on trial, 9 (Man) will have no power, and no helper. 10 By the heaven with its recurring cycle of rain, 11 And [by] the earth which cracks open, 12 Verily, it is a discourse distinguishing. 13 and is not to be taken lightly. 14 Indeed, they are planning a plan, 15 But I am planning a plan. 16 Let, then, the deniers of the truth have their will: let them have their will for a little while. 17
God the Almighty always says the truth.
