Al-Aadeyaat

The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)

11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

By the (Steeds) that run, with panting (breath), 1 then raise sparks of fire (by their hoofs), 2 by the dawn-raiders 3 thereby raising clouds of dust, 4 dividing the gathering. 5 Verily man is unto his Lord ungrateful. 6 And is himself witness to it, 7 And indeed he loves wealth to the extreme. 8 ۞ Knows he not that when the contents of the graves are brought out and poured forth (all mankind is resurrected). 9 And all what lies in the breasts is opened – 10 On that day will their Lord be perfectly informed concerning them. 11
